It is going to be some long days for the next two weeks but my house is going to be so perfect for us!
We are new home owners on Blairmont Drive in Boone, NC! We have a huge remodel project starting today and we hope that you will follow us through the entire process. I think it will be amazing to watch us transform this house into our home!

2 weeks and I think we are going to make it!
When the hardwood floors came in I could hardly contain my excitement. This is a huge project and it looks amazing!! James has put in some serious work to make them look that good :) I have finished the painting in the pantry, kids bath, and started on the 50 pieces of trim. Seriously, it is 50 pieces and it might kill me before it is done. My half bath has a toilet and a sink, thank you Andy! That makes 2 working toilets! Preston has fixed the roof leak and he is my hero :) The countertops are here but not secure. Julie found this out when she tried to hang on the bar and it almost fell on top of her. My mom says, "I told you that would happen". Yes mom, you did. Coy has almost knocked out the painting in the stairwell. He is my other hero!

Lots of changes
It has been a hectic week at the new house. We finally got the sheetrock finished so the walls were primed and got the first coat of paint. I did lighten the paint and I'm very happy with it :)
The tile is up in the half bath and grouted. I have to get some dark grout for the laundry and it will be finished too!
The kids were so excited that Daddy let them help "build their house".
The light is in over the sink and the chandelier in the dining room.
Julie says you should always wear an Optimus Prime mask when the saw is on. It protect your eyes :)

We decided to...
I took a little vacation from the home remodel this week. My shoulder is not handling the sheetrock spreading and sanding, so I stayed out of the way. That means that Chad has been there Monday night and Wednesday night. He only worked for about 2 hours each day on the sheetrock . He called me Wednesday on his way home and said he was never touching the mud again and was going to pay someone to finish. DUH, CHAD! Told you to do that 2 weeks ago. When you let the guy think its his idea, its always such a good idea! We are still (barely) under budget and this is money well spent. So, I'm meeting a drywall finisher tomorrow to see how much it is going to cost to finish the upstairs. Whatever it costs, it will be worth it.
It is March 1 today. We have one month to be ready for move in day. List to move in:
Finish sheetrock
Primer all of upstairs
Paint all of upstairs
Tile install in half bath
Grout kitchen and half bath
Kitchen countertops
Kitchen backsplash
Install hood range
Desktop for desk cabinet
Plumb all sinks, dishwasher, 2 toilets
Hook up frig and stove
Install hardwood
Install carpet
Fireplace builtins
Finish pantry
Tile kids bath
Kids vanity, cabinet, and light
Tile laundry room
Cross your fingers people!
